Episode 303 - Faith Is Worth The Effort

How to Plant Your Seed and Watch It Grow

14 April 2026

"Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."Hebrews 11:1

I've been on a bit of a gardening adventure lately, and I have to tell you — God used a humble little packet of zinnia seeds to completely transform how I think about faith.

Whether you're believing for a healed relationship, a breakthrough in your business, or a dream that feels impossibly far away, I think this is going to give you something real and practical to hold onto.

Let's dig in — literally.

Part 1 | Plant the SeedStop Waiting for the Perfect Moment 🌱

Here's what most of us do with a dream: we hold it. We protect it. We think about it at 2am and then tuck it safely away again because bringing it out into the open feels risky. What if it doesn't happen? What if people think I'm foolish?

But real faith doesn't get planted by sitting on the shelf. It gets planted by bringing that dream to God — out loud, on your knees, in the car, wherever — and saying, "Lord, here it is. What do You think?" That conversation with God? That's the soil. Then you take it to the Word. You find scriptures that speak life over that specific dream. You write them down. You put them somewhere you can see them. That's how you create the right environment for faith to take root and come alive.

The seed doesn't bloom on the shelf. It blooms in the soil. So bring it out. Bring it to God. And plant it.

Part 2 | Water It The Daily Practice That Makes Faith Real 💧

I used to think faith was something you mustered up in a big moment — some heroic act of believing hard enough and God would respond. What I've learned, both in my garden and in my walk with God, is that faith is far more like a daily habit than a heroic moment.

You don't water a seedling once and call it done. You come back every day, even on the days it doesn't look like anything is happening. You speak God's Word over that dream — out loud, with intention — and you thank Him for what He is already doing, even before you can see it. This is the practice. And it's in this daily, quiet, unglamorous watering that the most extraordinary things begin to shift. You'll notice a change in your posture, your peace, your expectation. The thing starts to feel less like a wish and more like a certainty.

Water daily. Don't skip the practice just because you can't see the results yet. The roots are growing underneath.

Part 3 | Tend the GrowthCelebrate and Let Go 🪴

One of my favourite parts of gardening has become what I call the art of noticing. When that first tiny leaf pushed up through the soil, I was so genuinely happy. And I think God loves it when we notice His handiwork and say, "There You are, Lord. I see You." Celebrating the small signs of breakthrough in your faith journey isn't naive optimism — it's an act of worship.

But there's another layer too. Mature gardeners practice deadheading — removing the spent blooms so that the plant can send its energy to new growth. And so it is in our faith. There are things — habits, thought patterns, maybe even relationships or commitments — that are drawing energy away from where God wants to take you next. Ask Him honestly what needs to go. Be willing to let it go. The space you create by removing what's dead is exactly where the most beautiful new growth will come.

Tend the garden, friend. Notice the growth. Release the dead things. And watch what God does next.

Say “Yes” to God’s Invitation

Faith is not passive and it is not perfect. It's a garden you show up to every single day, with your hands in the soil and your eyes on the Gardener. God is not waiting for you to have it all figured out.

He's inviting you into the process — the planting, the watering, the watching, and the waiting.

You have a seed in your hand today. What will you do with it? 🌱
