Recently I had the privilege of working with two businessmen who absolutely swear by implementation as the key to success. They don't just talk about good ideas — they act on them, quickly. And watching them, I couldn't help but think of James 1:22:
"Do not merely listen to the Word and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says."
The Bible has been saying this all along. The Word of God was never meant to be admired — it was meant to be lived. So what does it actually look like to implement it? Let me show you three practical ways to start.
Part 1 | Recognise the Mirror Trap 🪞
James paints a picture we can all recognise — someone who looks in a mirror, walks away, and immediately forgets what they looked like. Sounds a little absurd, doesn't it? But he says that's exactly what we do when we hear the Word and don't act on it. We open our Bibles in the morning, read a verse, nod at how good it is, and then close it and head into our day unchanged. We've looked — but we haven't really seen. The first step toward implementing the Word is to recognise this pattern in ourselves, without shame, but with honesty.
Ask yourself: when was the last time a scripture actually changed how you responded to something difficult? When did the Word of God interrupt a thought pattern, a conversation, or a decision? If you can't remember, it might be time to move from glancing to gazing — from skimming to sitting. This is where the transformation begins.

Part 2 | Bring the Word Into the Room 📖
Implementation begins when we stop leaving the Word on the page and start bringing it into real life moments.
Take Proverbs 3:5-6 — "Trust in the Lord with all your heart." That verse isn't just a nice framing on a canvas. It's a living instruction for the moment the car breaks down, for the conversation that goes wrong, for the bill that arrives without warning. The question to ask is: "Lord, what does trusting You look like right now, in this specific situation?" Or take Jeremiah 33:3 — "Call to Me and I will answer you."
What if before that meeting you're dreading, before the conversation you've been putting off, before the week that feels overwhelming — you actually called out to God and asked Him what He sees? The Word is meant to be your first language in every situation, not your last resort. Practice bringing a verse into the room with you, and watch how the room begins to shift.
Part 3 | Act on What You Hear 👣
My businessman friends don't just brainstorm — they implement. And James 1:25 is clear: the blessing comes to those who do. Once you've identified a verse that speaks to your situation, and once you've asked God what it means for you personally, there is one thing left to do — take a step. It doesn't have to be huge. It might be choosing not to speak in fear but to speak in faith. It might be making a phone call you've been avoiding because God showed you He's got your back.
It might be forgiving someone because you saw in the Word that you are forgiven. The step matters. Because faith without works is incomplete — and when we act on the Word, we create space for God to move in ways we couldn't have manufactured on our own. So this week, don't just read. Do. Take the verse you've been sitting with and let it walk out of the page and into your life.
✨ Say “Yes” to God’s Invitation
You were made for more than just knowing the Word — you were made to live it. And I genuinely believe that as you begin to implement even one scripture into one moment of your life this week, something will begin to shift.
So go on — pick up your Bible, find that verse that speaks to where you are, and bring it with you into your day. I'm cheering you on every step of the way. 💛
Blessings to you
