Episode 298 - Accessing God's Wisdom in Any Season

We've all been there—facing a season or circumstance that leaves us desperate for answers. Maybe it's a decision you need to make, a relationship that needs healing, or a challenge that seems insurmountable. The good news? God has wisdom specifically prepared for where you are right now. In James 1:5, God makes us an incredible promise:

"If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you."

Notice that word "generously"—God isn't stingy with His wisdom. He loves to give it. But there's a process to receiving it, and it starts with how we come to Him.

Part 1 | Start by Coming to Him First

When we're in challenging circumstances, our natural tendency is to frantically search for solutions everywhere except the one place that actually has them. We call friends, scroll endlessly online, and try to figure everything out on our own. But God invites us to come to Him first, not as a last resort.

Think about preparing for a winter storm. You need specific tools: dry wood, kindling, long matches, protective gloves. Every season of life requires specific wisdom, and God is the only one who knows exactly what you need for your unique circumstances. The beautiful part of James 1:5 is that God doesn't make us beg. He gives generously, without finding fault. You can come to Him confidently, knowing He's waiting with ready answers. It starts with simply asking.

Part 2 | Shift from Fear to Expectancy

Here's where many of us get stuck: we come to God from a place of desperation and fear. "God, I need answers NOW!" While God understands our urgency, coming from fear actually closes our awareness. When we're frantically grasping at straws, we miss the wisdom He's trying to give us.

Instead, shift your posture from fear to expectancy. Approach God with excitement rather than desperation: "Lord, I'm so excited to see what You're going to show me!" When we come with expectant faith, knowing God loves to give wisdom and is already working on our behalf, everything changes. Our spiritual posture shifts from closed and fearful to open and ready to receive. We stop white-knuckling our circumstances and start trusting that God has already prepared provision for us.

Part 3 | Open Your Awareness to Receive

When you come to God first with expectancy, something beautiful happens: your awareness opens up. Suddenly, you start noticing things you've never seen before. The Bible comes alive, speaking directly to your situation. The Holy Spirit highlights specific thoughts. You notice provision that was there all along, but you were too anxious to see.

God gives wisdom through various ways: a Bible verse that jumps off the page, a conversation with a friend, sudden clarity in your spirit, or circumstances that guide your path. The key is staying open and paying attention. Keep a journal. Notice when peace comes. Pay attention to recurring themes. When your awareness is open, you'll be amazed at how specifically God provides the wisdom you need, exactly when you need it.

✨ Say “Yes” to God’s Invitation

My friend, God is inviting you into an adventure today. Not an adventure of striving and struggling to figure life out on your own, but an adventure of partnership with heaven. He sees your circumstances, He knows what you need, and He's generous with His wisdom. So take that first step—come to Him, shift your heart from fear to expectancy, and open your awareness to receive. You'll be amazed at what He shows you.

This is what it means to walk in relationship with God—discovering His wisdom, experiencing His provision, and watching His faithfulness unfold in your everyday life. Will you accept His invitation?
