Episode 286:
How to Put a Smile on
God’s Face Today

19 August 2025

Have you ever wondered how to please God’s heart in your everyday life? Hebrews 11:6 gives us the key:

“And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.”

Faith is what delights God. And the beautiful truth is that faith can show up in many different ways. Sometimes it feels easy and natural; other times it feels like a stretch. But every time we choose to believe Him—over our circumstances, over our fears, over what we see—we put a smile on His face.

Let’s look at two powerful examples of how faith works, both in the Bible and in our everyday lives.

Here’s what it looks like:

|💛 When God Comes Close to Us

There are moments when faith feels effortless. We see this in the story of the woman at the well (John 4). She wasn’t looking for Jesus; she was just fetching water. Yet, in His kindness, Jesus met her there, revealed who He was, and her life was completely transformed.

We also see it in the story of the man tormented by demons (Mark 5). He didn’t come with faith or expectation, but when Jesus showed up, his life was radically set free.

These encounters remind us that we don’t have to strive—God's goodness is simply close. In our own lives, these moments often happen in worship: singing, thanking Him, or sitting in quiet awe of who He is. When our hearts are focused on Him, His presence brings peace, removes stress, and replaces lies with truth.

|🙌 When We Come Close to Him

Other times, faith requires us to take a step toward God. The Roman centurion (Matthew 8) believed so deeply in Jesus’ authority that he said, “Just say the word, and my servant will be healed.” And the woman with the issue of blood (Mark 5) pressed through the crowd, touching the hem of Jesus’ garment with bold faith—and instantly received healing.

These examples show us the other side of faith: we get to approach God with our needs, believing that He hears us and will move on our behalf. Whether it’s finances, relationships, or health, when we pray in faith, we are declaring, “Lord, I trust You.

| 💡 Trusting God’s Way of Answering

Faith also means trusting God to answer in His way—not just ours. Ephesians 3:20 tells us He can do “immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine.” That means His solutions may look very different from what we expect, but always better than what we could dream up on our own.

When we bring our impossible situations to Him and refuse to limit Him to our small definitions of “how,” we open the door for His goodness, wisdom, and creative solutions to flow into our lives.

✨ So what does it mean to put a smile on God’s face today?

It’s simple. Whether you are resting in His presence in worship, or crying out for His help in a desperate situation, your faith delights His heart. Every act of trust says, “Lord, I believe You are who You say You are, and I believe You reward those who seek You.”

And when you do that—big or small—you are stepping into the adventure of faith with Jesus.

My friend, this is the invitation: say “yes” to trusting God today. In your everyday circumstances—big or small—you can encounter His presence, His peace, and His solutions.

Faith is not about perfection.

It’s about trust. And every time you trust Him, you put a smile on His face.

This is the adventure Jesus is inviting us into — to walk with Him, moment by moment, all day long. Will you accept?

Blessings to you
